Take Flight: NYC Dreams Part 1

As I boarded my flight from Atlanta to NYC, I was so focused on finding the best spot to store my Nicole Miller rolling briefcase that I didn't notice the young lady sitting in the seat next to mine. After throwing my briefcase in the overhead bin above the person sitting directly across from my seat, I looked over to the left and said, "Hello! I think my seat is next to you...3-D?" The lady lifted her head full of blonde messy, but effortlessly gorgeous, curls and said "Oh, I am sorry. I didn't know which one was yours." I told her it was okay and I would happily take the window seat. Of course, I absolutely hate the window seat but when I saw her face my brain completely froze. I swear I was in shock and my heart began to beat hellaciously fast! I held it together and tried really hard to keep a straight face since I am very well known for showing my feelings on my face! I sat down next to her and settled myself in by doing the usual which includes, but is not limited to, checking for a blanket, then a pillow, situating my carry-on make-up bag under the seat in front of me, then taking out my two phones and my tablet. I then proceeded to call my hubby to tell him I made it on my flight and I would call him once we landed. Of course, I had already sent him a text message telling him that one of the main actresses in his favorite TV show on NBC was sitting right next to me! As I texted I made sure to stay focused and act as though nothing was going on but inside I was screaming and smiling really BIG! 😆 lol I know this sounds groupie-ish but you have to understand my TV friendship with this woman in order to completely understand how I felt as this very moment. Plus there are 5 people I would consider myself a die-hard fan of and this person sitting right next to me is definitely 1 of those 5! (By the way we were sharing an armrest/cup holder!!)

So, this flight took off at 10:45 am and landed at La Guardia at 1 pm. Before taking off into the air, my husband continued to text me to remind me to ask to take a picture with her. I responded back multiple times telling him I was too nervous and plus I hate making people feel uncomfortable when they are doing something normal like taking a flight. If we were in a different setting or attending something more appropriate for me to ask her for a picture I would have definitely went through with it. So, she and I went on with our lives in our seats during this flight as if nothing was different. I finished a novel about the history of style and fashion, she wrote in her journals, I posted to all of my social networks as usual and she slept with her head propped up on our shared armrest! She enjoyed coffee, I had water, we both turned down the hot lunch being served, and we briefly spoke as the plane landed. I asked her was NY home for her and she asked me the same. Of course I said no and she said yes. She told me the weather was going to be perfect for my planned stroll in the city and she even verified it on her phone after swiping through the many cities she had saved in her weather app. She asked me what I did for a living and of course I told her the truth about both of my gigs as an Auditor and as a Wardrobe Stylist which I thought would open up the conversation to discussing her past career as a fashion buyer but of course I completely forgot to continue pretending I didn't know who she was which means I completely forgot to ask her what she did for a living!

Basically, I kept it cool while she told me she hopes my colleagues and I have a great time sightseeing in NYC which is where we ended our brief get to know each other convo. To be honest, she looks and sounds exactly like she does in the every show and movie we have seen her in and she was so nice that I didn't want to bombard her with questions or mistakenly say something about who she was out loud which would have most likely caused other passengers to pay attention to us. I wasn't going to post this after writing it in my journal Sunday night but I wanted her to know that I am a huge fan and she was a very nice person. I wish that I would have talked to her more during our 2 hour flight but at least I can say I shared an armrest with her!

If you are wondering who this beautiful person was, her name is Margarita Levieva!!!! She is best known for her recurring role as the faux Amanda Clarke on Revenge and most recently as Natalie O'Connor on Allegiance.
